Tradescantia zebrina Purple - 4" HB

Tradescantia zebrina (commonly known as the Inch Plant or Wandering Dude) is a fast-growing, trailing houseplant famous for its shimmering, jewel-toned leaves. Its foliage features bold zebra-like stripes of silver and green on the top, with vibrant, deep magenta or purple undersides.

Care & Maintenance

Light: Thrives in bright, indirect light. Bright conditions keep the purple coloration vibrant, while too little light will cause the leaves to fade to green. Protect from harsh, direct midday sun, which can scorch the leaves.

Watering: Water when the top 1-2 inches of soil are dry. They appreciate evenly moist soil, but will bounce back quickly if you occasionally forget. Use a pot with good drainage to prevent root rot.

Pruning & Propagation: This plant tends to get leggy over time. Pinch off the growing tips regularly to encourage a bushier, fuller plant. The pruned stem cuttings root effortlessly in water.
